Welcome to JR Woods & Reno Pte Ltd ("Company", "we", "our", "us"). These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website located at https://jrwoodsreno.com.sg/ (the "Website") and our carpentry and renovation services ("Services") in Singapore.

By accessing our Website or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the Website or use our Services.

Important: Please read these Terms carefully before using our Services. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and JR Woods & Reno Pte Ltd.

1. Our Services

JR Woods & Reno Pte Ltd specializes in carpentry and renovation services including but not limited to:

  • Custom carpentry and cabinetry
  • Kitchen renovation and carpentry
  • Office and commercial carpentry
  • Furniture repair and restoration
  • General renovation services

All services are provided subject to separate written agreements, quotations, or proposals that may contain additional terms and conditions specific to each project.

2. Quotations, Estimates & Pricing

  • Quotations: All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue, unless otherwise specified.
  • Estimates: Estimates are approximate and may change based on final specifications, site conditions, or additional requirements discovered during the project.
  • Pricing: All prices are in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and exclude GST unless explicitly stated otherwise.
  • Additional Costs: Any additional work requested after quotation acceptance may incur additional charges, which will be communicated and agreed upon in advance.
  • Material Costs: Material prices are subject to change based on market conditions. We will notify you of any significant changes before proceeding.

3. Payment Terms & Schedule

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, our standard payment terms are as follows:

  • Deposit: 30% upon acceptance of quotation
  • Progress Payment: 40% upon commencement of work
  • Final Payment: 30% upon completion and handover

Payments can be made via bank transfer, PayNow, or cash. Details will be provided in your invoice.

Late Payments:

Late payments may incur interest charges of 1.5% per month on the outstanding amount. We reserve the right to suspend work on any ongoing projects until overdue payments are settled.

4. Project Timeline & Delays

  • Project timelines are estimates and not guaranteed deadlines. While we strive to complete projects on time, various factors may affect the schedule.
  • We are not liable for delays caused by:
    • Unforeseen site conditions
    • Weather conditions affecting work
    • Client-requested changes or delays in decision-making
    • Delays in material delivery from suppliers
    • Force majeure events
  • We will communicate any significant schedule changes promptly.

5. Warranties & Workmanship Guarantee

We stand behind the quality of our workmanship:

  • Workmanship Guarantee: 12 months from project completion for defects in workmanship
  • Material Warranty: Subject to manufacturers' warranties for materials supplied
  • Exclusions: The warranty does not cover:
    • Normal wear and tear
    • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or improper maintenance
    • Modifications made by third parties
    • Damage from external factors (e.g., water damage, pest infestation)

To make a warranty claim, please contact us with details and photographs of the issue.

6. Client Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and complete information for quotations
  • Obtain necessary permits or approvals from relevant authorities (if required)
  • Ensure safe and accessible worksite for our team
  • Make timely decisions to avoid project delays
  • Provide necessary utilities (electricity, water) at the worksite
  • Secure and protect personal belongings in the work area
  • Inform us of any special requirements or site-specific restrictions

7. Cancellation & Termination

Cancellation by Client:

  • Before work commences: Deposit may be refunded less any costs incurred
  • After work commences: Client is responsible for all work completed and costs incurred up to cancellation date
  • Materials ordered specifically for the project: Client is responsible for payment

Cancellation by Company:

We reserve the right to cancel a project for reasons including but not limited to unsafe working conditions, non-payment, or breach of agreement. In such cases, we will provide written notice and refund any unutilized portion of payments received.

8. Liability & Insurance

  • We maintain appropriate insurance coverage for our business operations in Singapore.
  • Our liability for any claim relating to our services is limited to the total contract value or the amount paid by our insurance, whichever is lower.
  • We are not liable for:
    • Consequential or indirect damages
    • Loss of use, revenue, or profit
    • Pre-existing conditions not disclosed before work commenced
  • Clients are responsible for their own contents insurance.

9. Site Safety & Conduct

Safety is our priority. By engaging our services, you agree to:

  • Provide a safe working environment
  • Inform us of any known hazards or safety concerns
  • Keep children and pets away from the work area
  • Respect designated safety zones and barriers
  • Follow safety instructions provided by our team

Important: Failure to maintain a safe worksite may result in work suspension until conditions are rectified.

10. Intellectual Property

  • Designs, drawings, and specifications created by us remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • We grant you a license to use the designs for your specific project only.
  • You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our designs for other projects without our written consent.
  • All website content, logos, and branding are the property of JR Woods & Reno Pte Ltd.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or our Services shall first be attempted to be resolved through good faith negotiation between the parties.

If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to mediation in Singapore. If mediation is unsuccessful, either party may pursue legal remedies through the appropriate Singapore courts.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our Website. Your continued use of our Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under Singapore law, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with any project-specific agreements, constitute the entire agreement between you and JR Woods & Reno Pte Ltd regarding our Services, superseding any prior agreements or understandings.
